Robersons Larch Venice Turpentine 60ml
From Austrian Larch tree.
A slow drying thixotropic balsam for use in mediums and varnishes. Purified and slightly heated when decanted.
May be placed in warm water bath to obtain a more fluid consistency.

Pure Larch Venice Turpentine is a pale yellow viscous transparent liquid. At room temperature it is in an almost solid state. When warmed in a “bain-marie“ (double boiler) it becomes liquid and easy to blend with either turpentine, oil (linseed or walnut) or both.

There are a number of recipes for oil painting mediums using larch venice turpentine (not the same as venitian turpentine). Those that use stand oil will create smooth, enameled jewel effects.

This natural balsam resin has been used throughout history and by many of the old masters.
